About Ross Reynolds:

Ross hosts "The Conversation," a daily news–talk program. An excerpt from our show on high school reunions garnered a 2003 first place award from the Radio and Television News Directors. In the December 2001 issue, Seattle Magazine called "The Conversation" "Seattle's best talk show." The program also received the 2001 SPJ Pacific Northwest Excellence in Journalism First Place Award for Daily News Reporting, a 2001 New York Festival Gold World Medal for Talk Programs, and a 2000 Public Radio News Directors First Place for Interview/Call–in Program.

Ross came to KUOW in 1987 as news director, and in 1992 became program director. As program director, he changed the station's format from classical/news to news and yet more news. In 1998, Ross became program director and news director. Our coverage of the World Trade Organization protests in 1999 won a National Headliner First Place Award for Coverage of a Live Event.

Along the way, Ross hosted the daily magazine program "Seattle Afternoon;" regional newsmagazine "Northwest Journal" that aired in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska; and a weekly public television interview program "Upon Reflection," which still occasionally pops up in reruns.

In 1991, Ross went on a journalism exchange to Tonga in Oceania where he interviewed the King. In May 2003, he was a Jefferson Fellow from the East/West Center traveling to Japan, South Korea and Malaysia.

His pre–KUOW career included seven years as news director at community radio station KBOO in Portland, five years as news and public affairs director at WCUW in Worcester, Massachusetts, two years as music editor of Worcester Magazine. Ross has a cameo role in the documentary film "Manufacturing Consent," an intellectual biography of Noam Chomsky.
